Switching gears a little bit to talk about the Ozark Indie Book Fest again. For those of you who are unaware, there is an awesome NEW book/writing convention starting up this October. I’m one of the official bloggers so I am pretty pumped up about it! Find out more about the con on the OIBF website!

Snag your tickets here. You must have either a multi-day reader ticket ($35) or an author table to gain access to the after party.

Today, I wanted to talk about the AFTER PARTY! The con itself is fun, but the after party sound like a blast! Not only is there going to be a red carpet, but we were told that costumes are a must! Please grab your tickets to the con so you can come to the after party. THEN you can dress up as your favorite book character!

I’m honestly having a difficult time deciding who to be. I’ll also be toting around a 2-ish month old baby so I definitely want to theme our costumes together. Baby will have no say, so I will get away with that while I can! Mwahahaha!

A few ideas I’ve had so far that involve something cute for my new infant to become for the after party. Throw any other ideas in the comments!

  1. Harry Potter The little one could be HP whether a boy or a girl. Or we could be random wizards/witches. I AM a Ravenclaw after all. No Gryffindor robes for me!
  2. Guardians of the Galaxy Do comics count? After all…you can read them. Luke (husband) and I are huge Guardians of the Galaxy fans. I’m sure we could figure out something from there. That may count more as a movie costume. Hmm…
  3.  Alice in Wonderland has endless possibilities for a small baby. Tiny Caterpillar? Little Alice? We’ll see.
  4. Lord of the Rings Tiny Hobbit? CUTE. Or we could go with the actual book of The Hobbit and make the baby a tiny Smaug…

I need more ideas! What book character would you choose for your costume? I hope to see you there!
