This month, TONS of blog are participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge. We need to post each day (except Sundays) surrounding our theme that we’ve chosen. Each post begins with the next letter in the alphabet. To see the other blogs participating, click here.

My theme is “All Things Geek.”

Today’s letter is “G” and I’ve decided to talk about one of my favorite movies, “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

a74e60b5e292e4e15bd3e9430319439cIf you haven’t seen GOTG, I’d describe it as an awesome space epic about a boy named Peter Quill who gets abducted by aliens. He grows up in space as a thief (or Ravager) named Starlord. His life changes when he steals this thing called an “Orb” that everyone wants to get their hands on for one reason or another. I don’t want to give too much away if you haven’t seen it, but I highly recommend it! I could probably watch Guardians of the Galaxy at least twice a week and not get sick of it.

Peter Quill (Starlord) is played by Chris Pratt. He does an awesome job becoming the sarcastic, fun, character. Starlord may be a tough thief, but inside he really does care. Oh, and he has a great taste in music.

Other (main)characters include a bounty hunter pair named Rocket (a raccoon of sorts) and Groot (giant tree thing), and Gamora (she is green and kicks much butt).

***Edited to add*** My husband was super offended when he realized that left Drax out of the post. I didn’t mean to! He is actually one of my favorites. I love that he takes everything literally. Sorry, Drax! Don’t kill me. **** 😀

Again, I haven’t read the comics yet, but I’ve been told that there is both a Rocket and Groot series and a separate series about Starlord. Definitely on my comic book TBR list!

What movie can you watch every week and not grow sick of it?

Haha what a great theme! I enjoyed this movie, too, although I’ve only seen it once so far. To answer your question, there are a bunch of Disney movies I can watch frequently without getting sick of them.

We love Disney movies here! I am so glad my kids prefer them to annoying kid shows (most of the time).

I loved this film, can’t wait to watch it again.
I think I could watch the x-men movies every week without getting bored. I also love the Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Repeats of those seem to be on all the time and somehow I always get sucked into watching them.

I agree about ALL of those. I could watch them all the time!

I don’t usually say this, because it sounds snooty, but I liked the comics way more than the movie (the movie was still good, though). They left a lot out of Gamora’s character, and sadly those were the parts that I liked the most. I am looking forward to the next movie, to see what they add to it 🙂

Ooo! No, it makes sense. A lot of books are better than the movie so I assume it would be the same for comics. Do you have a recommended starting point for me? I want to read them!

I haven’t seen this yet, but it is on my to-watch list. I could watch all of the Marvel comic movies over and over again (and in fact I have!). For a good science fiction series though, I love Babylon 5 and never tire of watching all 5 seasons. I am on my 5th time in watching them.
    Have a great weekend!

Marvel is great. I have not seen Babylon 5, so I will look it up!

Guardians is such a great movie 🙂 I watched it again the other night with my husband. My fav is Rocket, but I love all the characters :). Hmm … can I pick a TV show instead of a movie – I watch the original Mission Impossible series over and over again. I love it.

Rocket is awesome. I definitely agree! I don’t think I’ve ever seen an episode of the MI series!

I still haven’t seen this film but I really want to, especially after reading your post 🙂 I never tired of watching The Living Daylights and License To Kill (I’m a big Timothy Dalton fan)

I haven’t seen either of those films. I’ll check them out! Thanks for visiting!
