Em returns to Austin Valley, but there are many things that don’t add up about her homecoming. She’s left Rogue behind and is adamant that Dr. Parker must leave the Valley with her. Zack agrees to help her, but soon learns she’s not telling the whole truth when Rogue comes storming back. With the threesome reunited, they work on a plan to stop the Defect crisis. Their plan places all of them at risk, but Em knows they have no other choice. Hundreds of kids are being injected with poison every day and Nona, her sister, is one of them. Em Fuller has one mission and will stop at nothing to achieve it: Bring the government of Austin Valley down.
Em uncovers more deception and lies in Rebels: The Reverians Book 2 as the story picks up a short time after Defects (book one) left off. Rogue is still suffering from crippling headaches and Em ventures back to Austin Valley on her own to find help for him without him knowing. I love Em’s strong-headed nature when it comes to helping her city and those she cares about. I think we could be friends.
Sigh…BUT. Sometimes I just want to shake Em to help her realize what she’s missing. Her relationship with her best friend, Zack, is infuriating at time because I feel so bad for him. He is so sweet. I just want to hug him to let him know it’ll be ok.
Don’t get me wrong. I love Rouge and Em together! But, I think Zach just needs to find someone special (and that isn’t a horrible human being). I’m rooting for you, dude!
Em’s horrible family (excepting Nona of course) turns the evil up a notch as well as the plot thickens! Will Rouge, Em, and Zack find out the truth before it’s too late? Ah! Go read it and find out!
Rebels is exciting, infuriating, and awesome. I can’t wait to read Warriors!
