#AtoZChallenge 2016 Reflections

May 10, 2016 , In: Geek , With: 4 Comments

April was crazy, but I made it! Today is the day where I’ve decided to talk a little bit about my experience with the A to Z Challenge. If you haven’t heard of this challenge before (click here!) it’s a blogging challenge where 1000s of blogs each write a post per day (except Sundays) in the month of April. Each day corresponds with a letter of the alphabet and sometimes a theme.

My theme was “All Things Geek” to go with my little blog’s catch phrase.

Here are my thoughts. I had a great time finding new blogs and new readers for my blog. Lots of interesting themes, articles, and topics were covered!

However, I don’t think I’m going to participate next year and I’ll explain why.

  1. I am attempting to post only two days per week to cut down on emails my subscribers receive.
  2. Time. I have only a little time left over after work and unfortunately my writing/reading/reviews took quite the hit last month! I managed to post a few reviews for certain letters, but not as many as I need/want to!
  3. While many bloggers planned ahead and wrote all of their articles before the challenge started…I didn’t. I winged it almost everyday. It was fun, but I am so tired! 😀

A-to-Z Reflection [2016]

What did you think of the A-Z Challenge posts? Should I do it again? Either way, I am definitely going to check out the other participating blogs next year. I found some good ones. 🙂

Like you, my other work suffered and I dread the idea of doing this all again. Also Like you I may well blog hop in the next challenge because, I agree, there were some pretty groovy posts. Well done for getting to the end!

Yes, exactly. It was fun…but last year when I did the challenge I wasn’t ALSO doing so many other things at the same time. It was worth a try!

Well, it’s part of the challenge to have to cut back on other things. I hadn’t realized this before because I felt safe that I had prescheduled my posts. Well, I was wrong because reading and commenting is a lot of work, too.
Congratulations to finish the Challenge successfully!

Yes! Definitely part of the challenge was to cut back. I’ll need to see next year if I’m in a place where I feel I CAN do it again. I remember my first year, I didn’t comment as much. This year was MUCH more fun because I visited way more blogs.
